Obituary – Mohamad Irwan Ahmad

It is with great sorrow that I am reporting the death from leukaemia of Irwan Ahmad, one of our first year post-graduate students. Irwan did his BSc and MA at the National University of Malaysia and had just started his research in Cardiff on the psychological contract and wellbeing. Prior to coming to Cardiff he had conducted extensive research and had 12 publications which had received nearly 5,000 views on ResearchGate.

Irwan was a much loved member of our research community and he was at the stage where he was beginning to fulfil his potential as a researcher. In the short time that he was with us he gained the respect of both fellow students and senior members of staff. The research he conducted in his short time here will be published and this will be a lasting memorial to his considerable efforts.

At a personal level we found Irwan to be a most pleasant and agreeable young man. He was shy and modest but always most willing to help others and was extremely conscientious about his work. We will greatly miss our dear colleague and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
