Development following preterm birth

One infant in fourteen is born prematurely. At Development@Cardiff we are interested in the many pathways of development following preterm birth. Preterm birth is associated with higher risk for a variety of cognitive, motor and behavioural difficulties. However, not all infants born prematurely develop such complications. We hope to come to a better understanding of how infants born prematurely learn about and experience their world. Understanding such pathways is important in developing interventions and providing information to parents about development following preterm birth.
