With acknowledged excellence in research and teaching, and being one of the largest psychology departments in Britain, our undergraduate degree programme covers all areas of psychology under a modular system. The teaching is research-led and it is a special feature of the School that aspects of applied psychology are included as a vital and integral part of the subject. The courses emphasize psychology as a scientific pursuit, and foster both analytical and communication skills. As such, they provide a foundation for a wide range of future careers, including all aspects of professional psychology, many health care professions, as well as a spectrum of more general graduate destinations. All of the School’s degree programmes are recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS) for Graduate Membership and Graduate Basis for Registration.

Courses

We offer two undergraduate courses: Psychology, and Psychology with Professional Placement. These are identical except for the inclusion of a professional placement in the 3rd Year of study.

The School's typical offer is AAB at A-level for applicants taking at least one of the following subjects - Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths. If the student has not taken any of these subjects, a typical offer would be AAA. These grades exclude General Studies.
