Specific Funded Projects
Some projects have already been awarded funding from various sources. For these, the outline and some details of the projects will already have been worked out by the supervisors. However, there is often still some scope for students to take projects in new directions. You apply for the positions competitively, just like applying for a job.
Wales Integrative PhD Programme in Neurodegeneration (WIN): ESRC Wales DTC 4 year PhD studentships
We are currently accepting applications for five ‘4 year’ PhD studentships as part of the recently awarded ESRC-funded Wales Integrative PhD Programme in Neurodegeneration (WIN). Students should already have a Masters level qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Social Sciences, Neuroimaging, Genetics, and/or Psychological Methods). Students without a relevant Masters level year will be considered for funding for ‘5 years’ in exceptional circumstances, and would be enrolled on the Social Sciences-led MSc in Social Science Research Methods or the Psychology-led MSc in Neuroimaging (depending upon their previous academic background).

SBP studentship - Risk, perceptions, attitudes and energy
Applications are invited for a PhD studentship exploring 'risk perceptions and attitudes towards emerging and/or controversial energy sources/technologies'.
This will draw on and develop relevant social and environmental psychology theories on risk, attitudes, persuasion and identity (e.g. psychometric paradigm, place identity, elaboration likelihood model).
