Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

TMS uses a rapidly changing magnetic field, generated by electrical coils outside the head, to induce weak electric currents in the brain. This can transiently cause or interfere with activity in specific parts of the brain where TMS is applied. It is a powerful tool for studying the function and interconnections of different brain regions.  TMS at CUBRIC is principally performed by Dr Chris Chambers’ group.
