Research summary

My research focuses on the development of children’s imaginative play and explores individual differences. I am interested in whether the development of pretend play follows a normative progression from early acts such as drinking imaginary liquid from a cup, through to pretending that an object represents another, to scenarios where elaborated roles are enacted. A further aim of my research is to explore associations between children’s anxiety symptoms and their imaginative ability.
