Evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness, I coordinate the second year teaching, and increasing Service User and Carer involvement in training.
I completed my undergraduate degree and PhD at the School of Psychology, Cardiff University and then moved to London to complete a DClinPsy at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience, King’s College London. Post qualification I lived in South Africa where I was the Vice-Chancellor’s International Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Pretoria and worked in the Children’s ward of a large state Psychiatric Hospital. Since 2012 I have worked in Private Practice offering assessment and intervention in person and online, and delivering teaching on evidence-based interventions.
Clinically, my interests are in evidence-based therapies, working with adults with anxiety disorders using CBT, with a special interest in Trauma-focussed CBT. I also enjoy working with children and their families systemically, providing assessment and psychological intervention using Narrative, CBT, Parenting, and Mindfulness-based approaches.
My research interests are primarily focused on psychological assessment and intervention in public health including youth violence, childhood obesity and stigma, and maternal mental health and breastfeeding.
