Research summary

The topic of my PhD is ‘A multimodal analysis of retrosplenial function’. There a number of features that makes the retrosplenial cortex stand out as a potentially key structure in cognition, and yet very little is currently known about this structure. The aims of this project are to investigate retrosplenial cortex using a number of convergent approaches to provide a greater understanding of retrosplenial cortex in a normal brain and within a “damaged” system. The retrosplenial cortex will be assessed at a number of levels from cellular to behavioural and, as a result, the findings of this project have the potential to influence a number of models both of retrosplenial function as well as more general models of stimulus processing and integration.
