I investigate brain abnormalities in young adult who carry the Apolipoprotein ε4 allele, the strongest genetic risk factor for late onset Alzheimer's disease. The participants for this study are part of ALSPAC (Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children, also known as Children of the 90s), a large longitudinal cohort who have been followed throughout their life with the aim to identify how environmental and genetic factors affect a person’s health and development.
I am using multimodal imaging, in 3T, 3T Microstructure and 7T MRI scanners to characterize both macro and micro neural characteristics of Apolipoprotein ε4 allele as well as individual differences arisen form different lifestyles.
