AVA/BMVA Meeting on Biological and Computer Vision
School of Psychology, Cardiff University, 26th May 2011
The study of biological and machine vision share much common history and each discipline has benefited enormously from the other. To reinvigorate the discussion and collaboration between these sister disciplines in the UK, the AVA (UK biological vision) and BMVA (UK computer vision) are hosting a joint meeting. We particularly encourage submissions that will be of potential cross-disciplinary interest, but regular submissions on human or computer are also very welcome.
Scene-setting Introductory Talk
John Frisby, "Whatever happened to Marr? Reflections from writing the second edition of a textbook 30 years after the first edition (of Seeing, 1979)." [Psychology, University of Sheffield]

John Tsotsos, "How the Brain deals with the Computational Complexity of Vision" (Geoffrey Burton Lecture, sponsored by CRS) [Centre for Vision Research, York University, Toronto]
