We encourage visitors to choose sustainable travel modes when visiting the School and there are excellent public transport, walking and cycling facilities to help you:

Rail and Coach
The main School site (Tower Building) is located a 1-2 minute walk from Cathays rail station. Click here for a campus map – the Tower Building is no. 30 on the map. Cathays is only 6 minutes by train from Cardiff Central.

If you prefer to walk to the School from Cardiff Central station, it takes 20-25 minutes – click here for a walking map from Tower Building to Cardiff Central.

Rail links from Cardiff to other major British cities are excellent. The Cardiff-London service, from London Paddington, runs at 30-minute intervals throughout the day. Frequent services also connect Cardiff with Bristol, Birmingham, Southampton, Manchester, Liverpool and with many other cities and towns.

Visit the National Rail Journey Planner website for further information.

Cardiff is also served by regular coach services from towns and cities across the UK. Visit the National Express website for further information.
If your journey is likely to involve several stages, there is help with planning your journey on the Traveline and Traveline Cymru websites.

Local Buses
The No 95 service leaves Cardiff Central for the Cathays campus regularly throughout the day, and takes around 10 minutes. Local bus services also operate from Cardiff Central Station. Further details are available on the Cardiff Bus website.

Cycling and Walking
The School has dedicated, covered cycle storage at the back of the Tower Building and additional storage at the front and side of the building.
There are shower facilities on the 4th floor. There is also a drying room on the 7th floor for coats and umbrellas.
Walking and cycling maps are also available online here.

Other Modes
Details of car parking, driving directions and airports are available via the main University website.
The University also operates a car-share scheme, details of which are available here.
